Daingerfield, TX residents injured in McCurtain Co., OK wreck

MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK (KSLA) -

Four Daingerfield, TX residents, including a 4-year-old girl, were injured in a single car wreck in McCurtain County, Oklahoma Monday, after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, it happened on US 259 just after 3 p.m. 2 miles north of Harris in McCurtain County.

OHP says 19-year-old Tiffany Hegler was at the wheel of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler when investigators believe she fell al seep and ran off the roadway, hitting an embankment and rolling 1 and 1/4 times.

he initial collision report from OHP says that one passenger was thrown 49 feet from the vehicle, which came to a rest on its side. The report does not say which passenger.

There were three passengers in the vehicle, including a 4-year-old girl. She was taken by helicopter to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with trunk and internal injuries.
 
18-year-old Jessie Lynn Hegler and 17-year-old Cedarion Hopkins were also passengers in the Jeep. They reportedly suffered head injuries.

The driver, Tiffany Hegler, suffered trunk and internal injuries. All three taken to McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel.
