Proud Of East Texas

A popular country store from the 1940's has had a rebirth in Pine Mills. These days when people line up at the store, it's not to buy garden seed or hammers, it's to taste catfish.

Owner Priscella Noble frys up catfish, shrimp and hush puppies, while her husband Paul plays guitar when he's not on duty as a state trooper. Pine Mills catfish is located in what was once the community's general store.

Folks in Pine Mills are glad to see their community landmark back in business. But Pine Mills catfish customers come from all over, as well as Pine Mills.

They line up on Friday and Saturday nights, the only nights the cafe's open, to eat the tasty fare, hear the old time music and soak up the relaxed ambiance. Pine Mills catfish is located in Pine Mills, about fourteen miles from Hawkins.
