Bullard solar car passes inspections, ready to begin cross-country race

(KLTV) -

The solar car built by a team of the students from Bullard High School, which was involved in an accident late Saturday night, has passed inspections and is ready to begin a cross country race on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Over the weekend, the truck pulling the solar car in a trailer was involved in an accident after a car hydroplaned and swerved in front of the truck. Cullen Hippler, the financial and publicity director for the solar car team, says that the trailer fell off of the trailer hitch and that the solar car needed some minor adjustments and fixes. There was also a small hole in the plastic outer shell of the car which has been patched.

The Bullard High School team will race their car from Fort Worth to Los Angeles.
