7 from 7: Stories for your Thursday afternoon

Posted: Updated:

Good afternoon, and happy Thursday to you. Hot enough for ya?

Here are some stories of interest for you to check out today:

1. Who is the "most cowboy city in Texas?" you may ask.  Tyler is, y'all. Longview isn't far behind, either, according to a survey by Movoto.com. Check out what the criteria were for this designation, and decide if you agree or disagree.

2. Fans of El Charro Restaurants, which both recently closed their doors,  just might be getting their wish: the return of El Charro (and it's orange sauce. We're told it is great.) Read more about what we found out today.

3. In the wake of Texas Gov. Rick Perry signing HB 2 into law, Planned Parenthood-Gulf Coast will be closing its clinic in Lufkin. They will also close clinics in Huntsville and Bryan, according to a press release.

4. An East Texas native who describes his music as "Texas Soul" is making waves on a national stage after making it as a finalist on the NBC show "America's Got Talent." Check out his story here.

5. Just as waitress Marleigh Fiedler was thinking it would be a slow afternoon at Balistreri's Restaurant, she was about to land her biggest tip ever, as a result of a brother's dying wish and the cross-country trek to be kind to strangers who work in locally-owned restaurants. Also, you'll see the story on East Texas News at 4 today. Don't miss it!

6. The so-called Loan Ranger Bandit has possibly struck again, once in Kentucky and once here in Texas, just in the last couple of months. Read the latest here on this alleged robber who brazenly robs with his face to the camera, yet so far has avoided capture. We'll bring you more on the story tonight at 5.

7.On East Texas News at 6, we'll have a follow-up for you on a dog we told you about yesterday, whose story was heart-breaking and angered many of you. Our Shaley Sanders went to visit him today and tonight she'll introduce you to the dog and the veterinarian who saved his life.

Here's the link to the livestream on KLTV.com. Join us there at 4, 5 and 6 if you're not near your tv today. Also, you can view us live during the news on your iPhone or android KLTV News app! It's free!

We'll see you soon!
