The triumphant return of El Charro?

Oak Hill Properties, the company that manages the The Ridge at Oak Hills commercial retail center confirms that they are in the process of signing a lease for another business to fill the space previously leased by Zaza's.

Zaza's decided to close at the end of June of this year.

Steve Thornton with Oak Hills Properties said numerous businesses have called about leasing the space, but confirms they are in the process of signing a lease.

On Thursday, a marked El Charro's delivery truck was parked outside the restaurant.

Public records show that a tax suit was filed against Gilbert's El Charro Restaurants on July 2nd by Smith County.

The El Charro delivery truck parked outside of Zaza's did have a seizure notice on it stating Smith County has levied "any and all business/personal property including furniture fixtures, equipment, inventory and vehicles used in the operation of Gilbert's El Charro Restaurant."

A passerby in the ZaZa's parking lot said her husband had spoken with the owner of El Charro, Manny, who told him he planned to open between September 1-15.

Thornton would not say whether or not it is a restaurant, but when asked if it would be El Charro, which closed two weeks ago, he responded: "Residents of Tyler will be very happy when they hear who it is."
