FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

The Florence City Coordinator has been suspended without pay after pleading guilty to a DUI charge he got back in April.

Richard Lunnemann, 48, was arrested on April 11 and released the next day on bond.

Lunnemann was pulled over by a Boone County Sheriff's Deputy on Ky. 18 and McGrath Road for having no tail lights.

The deputy observed slurred speech and an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Lunnemann admitted that he drank two beers at his brother's house, and later stated that he actually at four beers. He failed three sobriety tests.

City officials say Lunnemann was driving a city vehicle.

Florence Mayor Diane Whalen said in a statement that the incident occurred after business hours and was not related to his city duties.

At the time of his arrest, the mayor revoked his city vehicle driving privileges.

On Monday, Lunnemann plead guilty to DUI. The city has placed Lunnemann on suspension without pay for the next 30 days. He is also not allowed to drive a city vehicle for the next year.
