COPY-Perry's office also gets apparent booby-trapped letter

AUSTIN Texas Governor Rick Perry's office received a letter apparently rigged to ignite when opened.

The office's mail screening process yesterday identified the booby-trapped letter before it was opened.Perry spokesman Robert Black says the investigation is in the hands of the Department of Public Safety.Black would not specify how mail screeners determined that matches in the letter were rigged to ignite.Governors in a handful of other states this week received similar letters, which were rigged with matches and set to ignite when opened. There are no reports of injuries.Black and D-P-S officials would not say where the letter was postmarked, but the others were postmarked from a prison in Ely (EE'-lee), Nevada. Two Nevada prisoners whose names are on the envelopes are being questioned.
