B-Bop Records hit with cash mob

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A long-time Toledo record store was the target of a cash mob on Saturday.

B-Bop records in downtown Toledo benefited from the extra exposure.

The group 'Toledo Choose Local' organized the mob on it's Facebook page.

Folks are encouraged to swarm down on a particular store on a particular day. The idea is that shopping local will ensure that their money will stay local.

"If you shop where corporate headquarters are somewhere else, the money goes to the shareholders and CEOs. That money doesn't stay in our community," said Amjad Doumani, of B-Bop Records.

Cash mobs are set up to provide an economic boost to a local business and only last one day.

B-Bop records has been around, in one form or another, since 1987.
