Dognapping cases expand throughout East Texas

Posted: Updated:
KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

The Kilgore Police Department is launching an investigation into recent dognapping cases that have now moved into their area.

We first told you about reports of stolen dogs on Tuesday, when Longview residents told us people were taking their dogs after posing as animal control officers and employees of the Humane Society.

Now, there are reports of a white male in an unmarked white pick-up truck with cages, claiming to have a warrant for people's dogs in Kilgore.

However, when the police are called, the individual takes off.

If you have any information on this case or have seen anything suspicious, you are asked to call the Kilgore Police Department at (903) 983-1559.
