Posted: Updated:
TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The Tyler Police Department has released the results of their No-Refusal DWI campaign over the Fourth of July holiday.

A total of ten DWI arrests were made during the No-Refusal initiative from July 4-6. The arrests result from the combined efforts of several different East Texas agencies.

  • The Department of Public Safety made six DWI arrests
  • Tyler Police Department made two arrests
  • Bullard Police Department made one arrest
  • Smith County Sheriff's Office made one BWI (Boating While Intoxicated) arrest.

The Department of Public Safety obtained three search warrants to obtain blood over the holiday weekend.

The number of DWI arrests made on the Fourth of July, and over the holiday weekend that followed, is lower than the number of DWI arrests that were made over Memorial Day weekend. 18 DWI arrests were reported over the 2013 Memorial Day weekend.
