JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

Jacksonville police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a 10-year-old child at Lake Jacksonville on July 4.

Investigators have charged 37-year-old Joey Longoria of Rusk with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Police said Longoria sexually assaulted the young girl in a swimming area of the lake.

Authorities said Longoria was initially arrested and charged with indecent exposure to a child, but after interviewing witnesses, those charges were upgraded to aggravated sexual assault.

He is currently held on a $75,000 bond in the Cherokee County Jail.
