AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) -

The Texas House of Representatives is debating a controversial abortion bill on Tuesday at the capitol in Austin. Lawmakers began debating the bill Tuesday morning and are expected to vote in the afternoon. Democrats and women's rights supporters have protested the bill for weeks. Hundreds of East Texans traveled to Austin Tuesday morning to show their support for the bill. KLTV 7's Melanie Torre is at the capitol today to cover the events. Watch KLTV 7 tonight for full coverage of the bill and stay with KLTV.com throughout the day for updates.
