LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Gunfire outside a night club sent three to the hospital early Friday morning after a shooting in Theatre Square on 4th Street.

Two men, one a teenager, and a girl suffered gunshot wounds. All three were transported by ambulances to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

Travis Stewart, the co-owner of Euphoria night club, said the people causing the problem never made it inside.

"All of the teenagers outside weren't even supposed to be here," said Stewart.

According to Stewart, several groups of minors arrived to Euphoria but weren't allowed in the building. Police arrived on scene just before 2 a.m.

"The shooting itself occurred outside the club," said Alicia Smiley, a Louisville Metro Police spokesperson. "With that many people, there was quite a bit of chaos. Fights were breaking out."

Several hundred people were inside the Euphoria at the time of the shooting as well.

"It was complete pandemonium," said Stewart. "People started running around. Some weren't old enough. That's part of the chaos because we refused them entry."

It's a place Stewart said he's trying to turn around after getting a bad rap in recent years.

"It's had a stereotype for being a place that's not safe," said Stewart. "When you have incidents like this, and a minority being involved, people just have a tendency to steer away."

Several witnesses ran away. Police are now combing through surveillance, but aren't getting a straight story.

"When you're attempting to interview that many witnesses there are going to be discrepancies among stories," Smiley said.

No arrests have been made.
