Davis' family excited about All Star season

HUDSON, TX (KTRE) -

For Jennifer Vansau, it's something she's seen her whole life from her little brother, Orioles first baseman Chris Davis.

"He has been good with everything he has done, so I am so glad that he is finally here and he finally knows how to play," said Vansau.  "I am so proud of him, that is my brother."

Two years ago, her brother's career took a turn as the Rangers traded him to Baltimore.

"We were sad to see him leave the Rangers," said Vansau.  "We were die-hard Rangers fans growing up."

Things have certainly worked out.  Davis leads the majors in home runs with 32.  He expected to be named a starter in his first MLB All Star Game.

"I think I am going to cry when they announce his name, as a starter," said Vansau.  "It is not even just going to the game, he is going to be a starter. I literally have no words."

No worries, there is plenty to say when she watches her brothers games.

"He (Davis) has exploded and during the games, this one explodes also," Rocky Vansau says of his wife Jennifer.  "They are animated and it is wonderful to see how excited they get just to watch him play."

Davis' family in East Texas couldn't be prouder.

"With his success right now, I am at a loss for words," said Vansau.  "I want him to know that his family is thinking about him and we are watching and we do love him and we are proud of him."
