TAKS Test Mistake At Longview Schools

Some students in Longview were given the wrong TAKS test. Longview school officials say Pearson, the company that supplies the TAKS test, issued the wrong test to 4th grade Hispanic children at two Longview elementary schools, Jodie McClure and Pinewood.

The results of those tests will be included and averaged with those from the rest of the school district. But now, the same children have been given the correct tests; showing a big improvement.

In a press conference, the schools' principals said they are upset that the new scores will not be accepted until after September 30th. The district will appeal to the T.E.A. on that date.
