Fundraiser held for bone cancer patient

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

A community is coming together to help a little girl in her fight against a life threatening disease.

9-year-old Pa'sha Williams of Kilgore was diagnosed with bone cancer in May. Many who came to the William's fundraiser at O'Aces didn't even know who she was, but they knew what she and her family were facing.

"This could have been anyone's children, my children , their children , anybody's children. And we have got to stand by our people," said supporter Sheree Norvell.

Pa'sha is now in treatment in a Dallas hospital.

"With funding and financing everybody knows in this day and time its hard and difficult, so we brought a check over from our club. You feel connected from the standpoint that you have kids and grand kids," says donator David Waterhouse of Longview.

They gave generously, many feeling it could be them in the same position.

"I just want to support the family in any way possible," Norvell says.

"She's a special little girl. Coming together that's the main part is that we come together. I just thank God I was able to do this," says O'Aces owner Deborah Hamilton.

The motto for the effort was 'tough girls fight strong' , a tribute to the attitude that Pa'sha has taken during her battle.

"It touches your heart to know that you're doing something good , no matter how small or how large. In your heart you know that you're helping somebody in some way," Waterhouse says.

If you'd like to help, a fund has been set up at Austin bank in the name of Pa'sha Williams.
