44-year-old Larry Maples, accused of shooting his wife, killing her, and shooting another man, has been released from the Van Zandt County jail.
Maples was arraigned in Van Zandt County in March on charges of capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was held with no bond at that time.
However, Maples and his attorneys convinced the judge to release Maples on his own recognizance. Maples is on house arrest with a leg bracelet. Sheriff Ray says his office is monitoring him.
The probable cause affidavit says Maples called his sister at 5:30 on a Sunday morning in March to tell her he wasn't coming home because he had killed his wife and shot another man.
After Maples called 911, authorities took him into custody. County records show that Heather and Larry married in November 2012, but family says the two had split up and Heather was staying with Moses Clemente for safety.
