VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

One suspect has been apprehended, but an East Texas man is still wanted for the burglary of a Van Zandt County restaurant.

The Shed Cafe, in Edom, was burglarized on the morning of June 21. Investigators originally believed that the burglary suspects were professional thieves with inside connections to the restaurant.

However, Van Zandt County authorities quickly discovered that the burglars had made a critical error. They had left behind not only physical evidence linking them to the crime, but one of the suspects dropped their personal debit card at the crime scene. This critical oversight led authorities directly to the suspect's house near Chandler.

Father and son duo, Richard Blankenship and Jeffery Blankenship, have been charged in the burglary.

69-year-old Richard Blankenship, of Chandler, is currently in the Henderson County Jail on unrelated charges and will be transferred to the Van Zandt County Jail. 42-year-old Jeffery Blankenship, of Valley View, is still at large and wanted by authorities.

Anyone with information regarding Jeffery Blankenship is asked to contact the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office.
