MOUNT PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) -

From the Mt. Pleasant Police Department:

On Wednesday June 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM officers responded to a hold-up alarm at the Pilgrim Bank located at 2401 S. Jefferson Ave. While responding to the bank, officers received descriptions of both the suspect and suspect vehicle seen leaving the bank location. The suspect vehicle was observed exiting the Chili’s parking lot next to the bank then traveling south on Hwy 271 toward Camp County.

A regional broadcast was put out to the Camp County Sheriff’s Office and Pittsburg Police Department asking them to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle described as a late model silver Isuzu Rodeo. A short time later deputies with the Camp County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and suspect at the Pitt Stop Gas Station located at 908 N. Greer. Blvd in Pittsburg. The suspect was detained until Mount Pleasant arrived.

The suspect was identified as Dennard Francis Scott, 30 years of age from Mount Pleasant. Found in his possession was the stolen money from the bank.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Titus County Sheriff’s Office Jail where he was booked on a charge of Theft, a Class A-misdemeanor. The exact value of the money stolen is not being released, said Mount Pleasant Chief Wayne Isbell. This is an ongoing investigation and the details to the offense are not being released. At this time there is no indication that this was a robbery. It was just theft of money.
