Posted: Updated:

Bus tokens have been used for decades, but in Cincinnati their run has come to an end.

Metro fareboxes will no longer accept tokens after June 30.

Metro sold it's last token on December 31, 2012. However, there are still several tokens in circulation and still being accepted through June.

Metro silver tokens may be used for a one way , $1.75 ride within Cincinnati city limits.

Sets of 10 silver Metro tokens may be exchanged for 10 ride tickets within Zone 1 at Metro's sales office located at 120 E. Fourth Street. No cash or refunds will be provided.

Cash, change, passes and 10-ride tickets will continue to be accepted as fares on all buses.
