Man identified in Gregg County drowning

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The man who drowned in Gregg County on Saturday evening has been identified. 

According to Gregg County Justice of the Peace B. H. Jameson, 36-year-old Timothy Matthew Carson, of Gladewater, drowned Saturday in an area just south of Gladewater off Highway 135, north of Crews Road. This is an area near Prairie Creek. 

Carson disappeared in the water around 7:40 p.m. and his body was found at 8:30 p.m.. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:45 p.m.. 

Authorities are still investigating the incident. The Gregg County Game Wardens are leading the investigation and are being assisted by the Gregg County Sheriff's Office.
