Sheriff Maxey Cerliano and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office say a man was seriously injured in his home early Monday morning.
Sheriff investigators responded at 1:50 a.m. to an aggravated assault call at a residence at 642 McQueen Road, where they found 27-year-old Jeremy Dewayne Miller with a serious injury to his abdomen.
Miller was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, where he died at about 2:50 a.m.
Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort responded and ordered an autopsy at the Forensic Medical Center in Tyler.
Investigators are not saying at this time what kind of wound Miller received.
Gregg County investigators, Kilgore Police Detectives and the Texas Ranger assigned to Gregg County are currently working on the case. Authorities say that persons of interest have been identified, but no arrests have been made at this time. Additional information may be available upon completion of the autopsy.
