Two East Texans dead after weekend motorcycle crash

JEFFERSON, TX (KLTV) -

A man and a woman are dead after a motorcycle crash near Jefferson on Friday night.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred around 9 p.m. on Farm-to-Market 729. 

59-year-old Jamie Wilson, of Gilmer, and 46-year-old Tracy Rhoades, of Avinger, were killed after they were both ejected from the motorcycle they were riding. The motorcycle was traveling at a high-rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and lost control. The vehicle then left the roadway and hit several trees. 

It is not known whether Wilson or Rhoades was driving at the time of the crash.
