ADOT: Heavy traffic on I-17 southbound

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Drivers traveling southbound on Interstate 17 from Bumble Bee to New River may encounter significant delays, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The high volume of traffic and a crash shortly after 2 p.m. has caused slow traffic for about 30 miles between mileposts 254 and 234.

ADOT crews were assisting with traffic control Sunday afternoon.

There are no closures or lanes blocked on the highway but drivers should be prepared for delays.
