NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

According to Nacogdoches Fire Chief, Keith Kiplinger, two Nacogdoches women were seriously injured in a house fire on Georgia Oak Street Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM.

Kiplinger says fire crews responded and upon arrival found two female victims, age 83 and 63, believed to be mother and daughter inside the home.

First responders immediately removed the women from the home and they were taken via ambulance to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Both women were later life-flighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Kiplinger says the women are in serious condition.

Their names have not been released at this time.

Kiplinger says the investigation into the cause of the fire is just beginning and is on-going.
