Shreveport police are looking for a man who they say kidnapped his ex-girlfriend's four-year-old daughter.

Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of West 78th Street on Wednesday for a report of a disorderly person.

They arrived to find a woman who said her ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Desmond Edwards, had come into her home without permission and took her daughter.

Police were told that Edwards took off with the child in a gray Dodge Durango SUV. Detectives were called in. After speaking with Edwards on the phone, authorities were able to arrange for the safe return of the little girl to her mother.
