East Texas fire crews had to respond when the engine of an 18-wheeler caught fire on Tuesday night.
It happened at about 7:15 in the 300 block of Kilgore Drive in Henderson, near the intersection of Highway 259 and Highway 79.
Witnesses sent KLTV 7 pictures of flames and smoke pouring out of the engine. Henderson police tell us that the driver didn't hit anything, and it seems that the fire started after some sort of mechanical issue.
Henderson police say no one was hurt, and the truck was not carrying any hazardous materials. Highway 79 North was closed for less than five minutes while traffic was routed around the burning truck.
