7 from 7: Stories for your Monday afternoon

Happy Monday afternoon! We hope your day is going well.

We have compiled a list of stories for you to check out this afternoon. We think you'll find something interesting to help get you through your afternoon!

1. As you're looking for summer activities to keep you busy, one Tyler shopping center wants you to know they're here to help. "We wanted a place that families could come or couples could come. And certainly we want people to shop, but we want to be more than just a shopping destination," the owner said today, mentioning events like family movie night each Friday night.

2. Tragedy strikes a facility dedicated to caring for animals; hundreds of animals were killed when a fast-moving fire ripped through an exotic pet business in Kilgore on Saturday. See more about this loss here.

3. Today at 5, Dr. Ed Dominguez will join us to talk about new research that shows men with restless leg syndrome have a higher chance of dying earlier than other men. MUCH higher. He'll discuss it at 5, so make sure to join us for that if you or someone you care about suffers from this condition. Check out more from Dr. Ed by clicking here for our health page.

4.  40-year-old James Jason White is in jail on a half million dollar bond for allegedly shooting 62-year-old Steven White, his dad, Saturday night at their home on Lake Tyler. Our Mitch Goulding explains on ETX News at 6 that the man says he was trying to protect his kids.

5. We have a slideshow featuring amazing pictures of thunderstorms moving through ETX on June 17 on our website; check out the great photos here!

6. Have you ever eaten your lunch out of a Mason jar? Well, now you can. Trust us, it's a great idea! See what Mama Steph and Jennifer are into today by clicking here.

7. Grant is watching out for you today in the StormTracker7 Weather Center; watch East Texas News at 4, 5 and 6 for the best weather updates in the state. He'll tell you what you need to know about your rain chances this evening!

Of course, you can watch live on KLTV.com, as well, if you're not near your tv this afternoon. Click here for the live stream link!
