East Texas Drunk Driving Sting Operation

Thousands of officers are working overtime this labor day weekend to keep drunk drivers off the road, in a campaign called "Drink, Drive,Go to Jail". It's a state wide campaign to stop motorists from drinking and getting behind the wheel of a car. Officers say it's important for everyone to remember that if you're caught you will go to jail. But that's not all; your license will be taken away, your car impounded and you'll receive a state fine.

"The state of Texas is going to send you a bill anywhere from 1500 to 3000 dollars depending on how many DUI's you've received since September 1st, you are looking at between 5 and 7 thousand dollars for one night on the town of drinking," says Kilgore Police Officer, Tony Stone.

If arrested for DWI you could spend 180 days in jail and lose you're drivers license for up to a year.
