FRESH's sauteed kale

FRESH by Brookshire's Executive Sous Chef Marc Mendez shares his recipe for Sauteed Kale. It's quick and simple to make; grab some kale from FRESH or your local farmers market and try this at home!

Sautéed Kale

3 tbsp. Oil (Canola or Olive)

2 Cloves of Garlic Thinly Sliced

¼ tsp. Red Pepper Flakes

1 Bunch of Kale Picked and Washed

½ tsp. Kosher Salt

1 Lemon Wedge (optional)

1.  Slowly heat oil and garlic in a sauté until garlic is a light golden brown color.

2.  Add red pepper flakes, kale and salt to sauté pan stir well to incorporate all ingredients

3.  Stirring occasionally, cook kale for approx. 2-3 min or until the kale is wilted and cooked down but still bright green in color.

4.   Remove from the sauté pan and serve immediately with a squeeze of lemon.
