Police blocked off Centenary from Merrick Street south to Boulevard Street to investigate the scene.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport Police have made an arrest in the shooting Thursday night in the Highland neighborhood that left a man critically injured.
Officers were called to the intersection of Centenary Boulevard and Merrick Street around 9 p.m. Thursday, and arrived to find 27-year-old Vincent Ilari suffering a gunshot wound to the lower body.
Ilari was taken to LSU Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He is now listed in fair condition.
Police say their investigation led them to 26-year-old Carllee Murray as a suspect. They arrested him at his home in the 400 block of Stoner Avenue just before midnight Thursday. Murray allegedly refused to give a statement in regard to his alleged involvement in the shooting.
Police believe Murray shot Ilari after he attempted to rob him at gunpoint, and Ilari wasn't able to satisfy Murray's demands.
