Good afternoon!  It's a hot day across East Texas today; hope you're staying cool and hydrated.

Here are a few stories of interest to check out while you stay out of the heat today:

1. In March, the FBI, along with local police in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas, launched a nationwide search for the man authorities have dubbed the "Loan Ranger Bandit." Now, the FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the robber. We were at the press conference today, and we'll bring you more on what the FBI said today, tonight on East Texas News at 6.

2. Gov. Rick Perry today signed House Bill 308, which allows public school students and staff to use traditional holiday greetings and display religious scenes and symbols on school property. "I'm proud we are standing up for religious freedom in our state," Gov. Perry said. "Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom from religion..." Read more of his comments from the signing here.

3. KLTV's Shaley Sanders has been working today on the story of an East Texas man, Marcus Allen Edminston, who is behind bars today after being accused of sexually assaulting a minor female. He is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault. Join us at 6 for more on this story.

Jacksonville's LeeAnn Womack

4. Music runs deep through East Texas and there is no shortage of songbirds here. From the deep, catchy chords of Texas country to the harmonic melodies of Christian music, East Texas has it covered. We've got a slideshow for you with information about various artists; click here to see if your favorite made the list! If not, send us a tip to News@kltv.com!

5. A fun video today: a crowd of over 60,000 people in a stadium, waiting for a concert to begin, spontaneously break into singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" in unison. Sounds simple, but it's actually pretty impressive! Check it out by clicking here.

6. A dog training to assist the sight-impaired alerted the blindfolded trainers when a wayward vehicle veered into their path. If not for the dog's alerting them, this would have been a tragic story. See video of the dog and the full story here.

7. Breaking now: Four people have been killed after a shooting inside of a business in St. Louis Thursday afternoon; two men and two women are dead. The story will be updated as more information becomes available at this link.

We hope you'll join us at 4, 5 and 6 on the livestream on KLTV.com if you're not near your tv this afternoon.

We'll see you soon!
