2 injured after gas explosion in CO

WESTMINSTER, CO (RNN) - Two people have been injured and several are unaccounted for after a gas explosion damaged seven to eight homes - leveling two - in Westminster, CO on Thursday afternoon.

Evacuations were ordered, but the city of Westminster said on its Twitter feed that evacuations have been lifted in the area of the explosions.

Xcel Energy, a Minneapolis-based company, has turned off power in the area, according to 7News.

Firefighters told local news that they are unsure if explosion was caused by natural or propane gas.

Westminster is a city of north of Denver with a population of 108,000.
