Former Atlanta Falcon running back Michael Turner was sentenced Wednesday on charges stemming from a 2012 DUI arrest.
Turner was arrested in September 2012 in Gwinnett County on suspicions of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 12 months probation and must pay a $1,000 fine. Turner must also complete 30 days of community service, enroll in DUI classes and submit to random alcohol screenings.
Turner plead guilty on Feb. 28, was released from the Falcons on March 1 and has yet to sign with another team.
The Falcons originally signed Turner to a six-year, $34.5 million contract in 2008, and he earned membership on the NFL Pro Bowl team in both 2008 and 2010 before the production declined last season, falling to a career low 3.6 yards per carry.
