CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The line of storms produced high winds and hail up to the size of a quarter on Thursday. About 10,000 Duke Energy Customers lost power, mostly in Hamilton and Clermont counties.

Residents in Roselawn told FOX19's Cory Stark they felt lucky to be unharmed after waking up to strong storms causing major damage in the neighborhood.

Some damage was reported in the area, including a tree down in the 5600 block of Ridge Road and power lines down at Reading and Seymour.

"You could see the plywood coming of the roofs, twirling and stuff, even the trees. That's how it broke that limb, everything was twirling, all the metal and everything," explained resident Ken Riley.

Riley explained how he ran to a nearby dumpster for shelter, "I was just scared saying 'Lord don't let it get me'. I was just trying to find me someplace to hide."

Outside the Hillcrest Elderly Apartments, debris was scattered all over. The building suffered some roof and window damage following the storm.

Residents inside their apartments when the storm hit say it all happened so fast.

"The first thing on my mind was, 'get the heck off this 3rd floor'," said Pat Brown.

"I was on my couch, and then I heard a big boom. I tried to open the door to get out but it was hard to open it, and it broke the window a little bit," explained King Diarra.

The wind was so powerful, it rolled over a car trapping a woman inside. Authorities say the woman sustained only minor injuries.

In addition to Roselawn, damage was reported throughout area, including a tree down in the 5600 block of Ridge Road and power lines down at Reading and Seymour.
