OTA training continue in Flowery Branch

Falcons players were out for another round of OTA training in Flowery Branch Tuesday morning.

Veterans Stephen Nicholas and Sean Weatherspoon were present during today's workouts, but haven't been on the practice field as they continue to rehab. They are expected to participate in mini-camp next week.

The Organized Training Activities are voluntary during the off season.

Falcons Coach Mike Smith tells CBS Atlanta News that the absence of a few veterans during this year's OTAs has given newly-signed younger players time on the field that they probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Smith adds that the playing will help those players contribute quickly when called upon.

First-round pick Desmond Trufant was absent during the first two weeks to complete his degree at the University of Washington.

Levine Toilolo, fourth-round pick, was out to complete his degree in Sanford.

OTA began May 28 and will conclude on June 14.
