NW Rankin grad Reid Humphreys tried to get away from worrying about the MLB draft last Saturday, so he decided to go fishing with his girlfriend. While on the water he got the call that the Washington Nationals had taken him in the 36th round.
That is the same team his brother, Tyler Moore, plays for. Humphreys said he was honored to be drafted but does not plan to sign with Washington.
Humphreys telling FOX40 that he will be at Mississippi St. next season to play for the team he signed with back in November.
His senior season, Humphreys led the state with 11 HR's and was the Gatorade player of the year for Mississippi.
