Another area high school is facing turf problems. The Hallsville Bobcats are going on the road for the month of September. The renovations at Bobcat Stadium are behind schedule, and the chief engineer for the school says the turf is not safe yet. As a result, home games on the 10th and 17th are now on the road.
"The problem is a kind of bicker between the turf company and the mat company," said Hallsville Head Coach Roger Adams. "We have to wait and see what we can do with the mat before we continue with the turf."
Hallsville will play Mt. Pleasant September 10 at Marshall. The following week, they will host Texas High in Kilgore. They hope to have the stadium ready by homecoming night, October 1.
