NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Nearly 1000 volunteers were getting down and dirty in Norwood as part of Give Back Cincinnati's Paint the Town 2013.

Thirty-four homeowners were chosen by the organization to have their houses repainted at no cost.

"The homeowners are just blown away," explains Lindsay Maurer of Give Back Cincinnati. "A lot of times people aren't really sure if it's real or they're not really sure that they're going to get selected. You know, those phone calls are the best that make in my entire year - the phone calls to tell people they're selected."

Volunteers utilized more than 1000 paint brushes, buckets and gallons of water to bring new life to homeowners, houses and community.

Ruth Burnett has lived in her Norwood home for more than 30 years and was never able to afford to have her home repainted. Thanks to Paint the Town, it now looks as fresh as the roses Burnett planted out front a decade ago.

"This is amazing," explained Burnett. "They're amazing people donating their time for people in Norwood to make their community look prettier and I think they're just amazing, wonderful people."

Plans are already in the works for Paint the Town 2014. Organizers say that Latonia has been selected as next year's location.
