ETX bank pledges $50k to Longview Habitat for Humanity

LONGVIEW, TX - Texas Bank &Trust has pledged $50,000 to Longview Habitat for Humanity's Foundations forthe Future Capital Campaign for the construction of a new facility. 

"As a community bank, we understandthat access to safe and affordable housing is vitally important to the strengthof any community. There is no better testament to the importance of this factthan to witness the lives that have been changed right here in Longview byHabitat for Humanity," said Rogers Pope, Jr., Texas Bank and Trust ViceChairman and Chief Operating Officer.  "The mission of Habitat speaksdirectly to our own efforts to further develop the communities we serve intovibrant places where families can grow and prosper. Therefore, it is our hopethat our contribution to Habitat's growth will in small measure further thoseefforts for many years to come."

The Foundations for the FutureCapital Campaign goal is $1,085,000 and includes the purchase of property, theremodel of an existing structure and the construction of a new ReStore. Gifts and pledges todate total $457,487.

Longview Habitat for Humanity is anon-profit agency dedicated to eradicating housing poverty in Longview. The organization partners with low income families to provide a hand up and outof poverty through volunteer home construction and a low down payment, zerointerest mortgage.  Founded in 1985, the organization celebrated theconstruction of its 80th home in 2012.  To learn more, tovolunteer or to donate visit   or call 903-236-0900.
