TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
The arrest affidavits for two men charged with capital murder in a shooting Monday night at a Tyler apartment complex that killed 21-year-old Joshua McGill have revealed new details about how the events unfolded that night.
18-year-old Earnest Deaurndra Jackson, Jr. and 19-year-old Ladarrius Devonte Warren are each being held in Smith County jail on a $2,000,000 bond.
According to the arrest affidavit, investigators found that Warren and Jackson had gone to the Kensington Place apartments in Tyler to purchase marijuana from McGill. The report said they attempted to steal the drug, before shooting McGill in the back with a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun.
According to the report, investigators said the gun belonged to a 16-year-old male, who told them he got it a few weeks earlier from a friend.
Tyler police said they are looking into the involvement of two juveniles in this case, but have not made any arrests.
