Need inspiration when it comes to your outdoor space?
TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
The 60th annual Tyler Builders' Association Parade of Homes offers some new ideas when it comes to sprucing up your outdoor space.
There are 28 homes open for tours across three counties this year. Ginger and Edward Brawner's new dream home is featured in this year's parade. Although there is plenty of entertaining space inside, they wanted to continue that same comfort of living outdoors. The entrance to their home includes a courtyard with two comfy chairs and a water feature.
"This side of the courtyard is just a place to relax, hangout, visit with your guests. We also have an entrance into one of our guests suites. It's a little bit more private, and that's what we were hoping to have for our guests when they come. We have this little breakfast bar for them where they can have coffee or keep their drinks," Ginger explained.
On the other side of the courtyard? A table and chairs, an area Ginger plans on having a morning coffee. That side of the courtyard has a door leading to the chef's pantry, which is right off their gourmet kitchen.
Ginger is an interior designer who incorporated blues and greens in the space.
"They are very calming, relaxing, refreshing and they also replicate what you are going to see in the outdoor area," Ginger said as she opened the door to her backyard entertainment space.
"The first thing your eye falls on is that beautiful aqua water," she said pointing to the pool.
"While the game is going on, you can find my husband, Edward, over here cooking for everybody," said Ginger as she pointed out their outdoor kitchen.
Edward Brawner has some top of the line equipment to work with. The space also includes an eating area at the bar, outdoor dining table, and large sofa complete with a television and fireplace.
"Well, we have four children, six grandchildren and one grand-dog and he's a big boy, he's a Labradoodle and his name is Einstein. When you have four toddlers that are all within months of each other, you know in age, it gets pretty crazy," Ginger said with a laugh.
After months of planning and building, the Brawner's said they could not be more pleased with their home.
