LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... a giant "minion"? The "Despicablimp" is currently on its way from Monroe, LA to Dallas, TX. The giant airship is modeled after one of the famous minion characters from the hit animated movie "Despicable Me".

The blimp was recently spotted in the skies over Longview and along Interstate 20.

According to the Despicablimp website, the blimp is one of only 15 airships flying around the world. The blimp is 165 feet long and has a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour. It normally flies at 1,000 feet above the ground so it is easy to see the giant minion, but the blimp can fly as high as 10,000 feet above the ground. There are two pilots on board.

The blimp is making the journey from Florida all the way to California to promote the release of "Despicable Me 2" in theaters on July 3.
