The Hudson Lady Hornets are keeping the state championship for another season.

Hudson won the 3A championship game 12 to 9 over Mineola at McCombs Field in Austin.

Hudson took control of the all East Texas showdown in the first inning. Alyssa Dotson gave the Lady Hornets a 3 to 0 lead after a two run double.

Mineola fought back in the second inning.  Ali Galaz had an RBI hit and scored a run, to cut Hudson's lead to one.  It was all Hudson from there.

Dotson had another two run hit in the third inning and the Lady Hornets scored four more runs in the fourth.  Dotson finished the game with 5 RBI.

Trailing 12 to 2 in the final inning, Mineola made things interesting scoring seven runs with two outs.  The Lady Jackets sent the potential game winning run to the plate, but Brittney Johnson grounded out with the bases loaded.

After a third place state finish in 2A last year, Mineola finishes runner up in 3A in 2013.  The Lady Jackets finish with a record fo 31 and 9.
