Freedom Fighters: George Martin

Posted: Updated:

Although George Martin had served in his high school Army ROTC, at the age of 17 he was driving Navy Higgins Landing Craft in the Pacific.  He was to be involved in four major invasions in the Pacific Theater of War.

In spite of being involved in dangerous landings and avoiding serious wounds, he was critically wounded by a rogue native group only a few days after the war ended.

He almost died and spent almost a year in hospitals recovering.
