FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

A man was rescued from a car that was partially submerged in a pond Wednesday afternoon in Boone County.

It happened just before 1 p.m. in the 800 block of Sharon Drive in the Crestview Lakes Mobile Home Park.

Police say the co-owner of the mobile home park, George Meyerratken, 79, of Crestview Hills, was backing his Lexus SUV out of his parking space when he lost control, backing over the parking stops and into the lake.

Investigators believe he suffered a medical issue which caused the accident.

Bystanders (residents), responding Boone County Sheriff deputies and a Florence Police officer all worked to free Meyerratken, but were unable to free him due to a seatbelt.

Upon arrival, Florence firefighters and a Florence police officer entered the water and removed Meyerratken from the car and pulled him to the shore.

Meyerratken was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky.  His condition is unknown at this time.
