WILLS POINT, TX (KLTV) -

The Texas Department of Public Safety confirms there was a three vehicle accident involving a Wills Point school bus Wednesday morning.

This happened  around 7:30 a.m. off of Farm to Market Road 751 near County Road 3804.

DPS confirms the school bus was carrying children, but they do not know at this time how many children were on the bus or the ages of those students.

DPS said three children were taken to a Kaufman hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the bus was taken to a hospital in Greenville.

Jean Dark with DPS said the school bus was headed southbound toward Wills Point when a green Camry swerved into the southbound lane.

Dark said the driver of the school bus swerved to miss the vehicle, but they collided. The driver of the Camry was identified as 33-year-old Fernando Rios of Wills Point, who was killed at the scene.

Another vehicle was involved in the accident, but the driver reportedly made it out unharmed.
