7 from 7: Stories for your Tuesday afternoon

Good afternoon, everyone! We know you are all watching the skies and are concerned about the potential for severe weather this afternoon. We are working hard, on the road in our KLTV StormTracker vehicle and in the StormTracker 7 Weather Center to get you the information you need before weather hits. We're here for you!

Here are some interesting and helpful stories for you this afternoon:

1. We have many ways to keep you alerted when warnings are issued. You will get the latest updates as they are issued from the National Weather Service and will see everything that Mark, Grant and Brett are doing today to tell you what is going on in our weather this afternoon.

2. Many have been asking how to help the victims of the Moore, Oklahoma tornado. We have a list compiled of ways to help; see it here.

 


3. Oklahoma City-based AP photographer Sue Ogrocki was at the elementary school destroyed by a tornado and saw rescuers pulling children out of the rubble. Click here to read her account of what she witnessed and to view her compelling photos.

4. There was a shooting  just after 10:00 a.m. today in Smith County that left one man dead. Our Mitch Goulding talked to neighbors near the shooting. and he'll share his report on East Texas News at 6.

5. East Texans gathered in front of the regional IRS office with signs saying "abolish the IRS" and "Texans deserve better." Our Shaley Sanders attended the protest where many in attendance said the best  solution was just to get rid of the agency altogether. You can see more about the protest tonight at 6.

7. Viral video of the day: Tornado survivor finds dog during interview. This video is very touching, as a woman who thinks she's lost everything finds her dog in the rubble while speaking with a computer.
