Posted: Updated:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has requested the deployment of Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1), a specialized search and rescue team, to help in the aftermath of the Moore, Okla. tornado.

The 80-member team, based in College Station, Texas, will leave early Tuesday morning along with an incident support team.

The TX-TF1 'White' Team is a Type 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team (US&R) with technical, canine and heavy equipment crews.

TX-TF1 has been used since 1998, responding to search and rescue operations in the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and Hurricane Katrina.
