A multi-million dollar bourbon distillery is in the works in Bellevue, Kentucky.
It's located on The Party Source campus in Bellevue, adding to their brand.
"Born out of passion The Party Source has, and Kentucky's native spirit...this is where bourbon was invented," said distillery manager Jay Erisman.
Erisman says opening this distillery in "bourbon country" is a dream come true.
"Everyday you drive to work and you're like what is that what's new," said Erisman.
This soon to be three story building will have a roof deck for up to 150 people, a multimedia conference room, and more all centered around the distillery that will pump about 13 barrels of bourbon per day.
"We will be on the bourbon trail...thousands coming to visit us," said Erisman.
Attracting tourists to the Northern Kentucky Riverfront, it's a development that Erisman says restores Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati to their roots.
"110 years ago there was a huge whiskey culture in Cincinnati and in Covington, and we've lost all that and this is one small step to returning it to its former glory," said Erisman.
The distillery, which has not yet been named, will be about 30,000 square feet. Developers are hoping to have it completed by the end of 2013 and plan to start producing by March of 2014. The distillery is expected to create about eight jobs.
The Party Source has also expanded their retail store by 16,000 square feet, making the business one of the largest liquor stores in the nation.
